Oliver Tessmann is Professor for Digital Design, in the Faculty of Architecture at the Technical University Darmstadt. His teaching and research revolves around computational design and digital manufacturing in architecture. His previous positions include an Assistant Professorship (tenure track) in the School of Architecture at the KTH Stockholm and a Guest Professorship at the Staedelschule Architecture Class (SAC) in Frankfurt. He was heading the performativeBuildingGroup at the engineering firm Bollinger + Grohmann in Frankfurt that operates at the interface between architecture and engineering.
Oliver holds a doctoral degree in architecture and completed his PhD studies on "Collaborative Design Procedures for Architects and Engineers" at the University of Kassel in 2008. Together with Anton Savov and Stig Anton Nielson he contributes to this year's Node festival with an interactive architectural installation called "Sensitive Assembly".
